We’ve all heard the importance of reading to our children, since the day of conception they say, by reading to them their vocabulary will start to develop and form an enormous repertoire of words. Becoming a skill they will use to communicate with other and most important with us, the parents.
During this process the child will also acquire a sense of imagination, what does this mean? As your are reading to them, they are following along and interacting with the story. This skill is very useful, why? The love for Reading. A beautiful gift, he or she will embrace for ever.
In order for the child to put these two skill in use, it is our job as parents to select the right book for them. Incorporating them when purchasing a book or simply visiting your local library. Have them look through the book, see if its something they’re interested in. Visuals are important at this age. My daughter loves books that have live colors and animals. She of course has her favorite bed-time book to read.
Visiting your local library can be a money saver and you can also expose your child to a variety of titles. But if you’re a book worm like my family is you would want to visit a books store or buy them online. We do both! I just recently found an amazing resource I hope you find useful.
Usborne Books and More, they have a fabulous book selection for all ages. They have really good English books selection. I highly recommend my book lady, Maribel McClain, click on the logo to visit her page.

We usually try take a monthly field to Barnes and Nobel to have expose our daughter to more books, including those who are not for kids.
Enough talking! Let’s talk about her favorite book sections.
