ALAS Conference Hand-out
- Under the supervision of Dr. Anne Fountain the handout was designed and delivered to parents that attended workshop. The presenters were 4 Latinas who were currently working on their Master’s, I , being one of them.
Calmecac Student Workbook
- “Raises” indigenous culture course which included academic literature, heritage and language. Class was designed for high school and middle school students enrolled in the Migrant Program in the North Monterey County Area.
- Introduced Etymology of Nahuatl and Spanish words.
- Compared and contrasted indigenous culture philosophy and perspectives.
- Critically analyzed readings ranging from Jose Martí to Nezahualcoyotl.
- Explored music, metaphors, and poetic expression in the Spanish language
La Rosa Blanca
- Thematic unit based on Jose Martí designed for elementary school grade levels. Unit includes reading from Martí and activities specially designed for the unit.
César Chávez Library Year Book
- Created an academic, culturally enriching two-month Summer Program aimed towards students in first to 6th grade. Developed weekly lesson plans themed around multiculturalism, education, and professional development. Organized weekly field trips with direct relevance to each theme’s academic assignments.
- Use of relevant visual aides to promote student learning.
- Engaged student interest by using a variety of learning styles.
- Kinesthetic learning through music and dance.
CoderDojo Digital Project
- Use of Video, Graphics, Audio Recording, and other multimedia.
- Student deliverables included projects authored in iMovie and Photoshop.
- Provided bilingual instruction in Spanish and English.Provided computer programming and software instruction for children ages 6-12. Responsible for creating age-appropriate curriculum, and developing integrated lesson plans with team of programming and graphic design instructors.
